They must then <strong>register immediately as an unemployed person with Actiris<\/strong>, even if they already have job prospects.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<p>Registration can be done:<br>\u2022 online via the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.actiris.brussels\/fr\/citoyens\/mon-inscription\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.actiris.brussels\/fr\/citoyens\/mon-inscription\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Actiris website<\/a><br>\u2022 or by appointment at an Actiris office<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<p>After registration, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.actiris.brussels\/fr\/citoyens\/byebyeschool\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.actiris.brussels\/fr\/citoyens\/byebyeschool\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">professional integration period<\/a> begins. This is the period during which your child is not yet entitled to an integration allowance. However, they may still be entitled to child benefit.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When is my child still entitled to child benefit?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<p>Your child retains the right to child benefit <strong>for a maximum of 360 days<\/strong> if they:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>are registered as an unemployed person with Actiris;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>are under 25 years of age;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>are no longer subject to compulsory education;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>are actively seeking work and are therefore not voluntarily unemployed;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>do not work more than 240 hours per quarter.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When does the 360-day entitlement period start?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<p>The 360-day entitlement period for child benefit starts at one of the following moments:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>August 1 following a complete school or academic year,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the day after studies are interrupted (or the <a href=\"https:\/\/famiris.brussels\/en\/faq\/students-and-school-leavers\/child-benefit-for-students\/\">required number of class hours or credits<\/a> is reducted),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the day after the end of the second examination period,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the day after submitting the final dissertation or thesis,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the day after the end of the apprenticeship contract.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"heading\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What if my child stops studying?<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<p>If the young person stops studying <strong>in the year of their eighteenth birthday<\/strong>, the 360-day period begins:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the day after their birthday, if the young person turns 18 before June 30 and stops studying before their birthday,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the day after the interruption of the studies, if the young person turns 18 before June 30 and stops studying after their birthday (and before June 30),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>from August 1 if the young person turns 18 after June 30.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"heading\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What happens if my child registers too late with Actiris?<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<p>If your child registers too late with Actiris, the <strong>entitlement period for child benefit for a job-seeking school-leaver starts from the registration date<\/strong>. The entitlement period ends 360 days after the mandatory registration date. Your child then loses the right to child benefit for the period they were not registered.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"heading\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What happens if my child does not register with Actiris?<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<p>In that case, <strong>the right to child benefit ends<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>at the end of the month in which your child stops studying;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>or at the end of the holidays if they attended classes until the end of the school year:<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>31 August (secondary education)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>30 September (higher education)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can my child work when in search of employment?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<p>Yes, but <strong>a limit of a maximum of 240 hours per quarter applies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<p>Does your child work <strong>more <\/strong>than 240 hours? In that case, <strong>they do not receive child benefit for that quarter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<p>If they subsequently work fewer hours or stop working, the right to child benefit may resume, provided that the 360-day period has not yet expired.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What happens if my child receives an integration allowance?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<p>During the professional integration period of 156 days, Actiris assesses whether the young jobseeker is actively seeking work. If your child receives two positive evaluations during this period, they are <strong>entitled to an integration allowance<\/strong>. The <strong>right to child benefit then ends<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<p>If your child does not obtain two positive evaluations during this period, they are not yet entitled to an allowance. In that case, child benefit continues to be paid during the <strong>initial 360-day entitlement period<\/strong>, provided that all conditions are met.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"heading\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What happens when the 360-day entitlement period has expired?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<p>Has the 360-day period ended and is your child still not entitled to an allowance?<br>In certain cases, child benefit may still be paid temporarily.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<p><strong>What do you need to do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<p>Send us a <strong>recent evaluation from Actiris<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Is the evaluation no more than 3 months old? We can then continue to pay child benefit temporarily.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is the evaluation too old or missing? Payments are then suspended.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<p>Afterwards, you will need to send us a new evaluation each time so that the entitlement can be reviewed.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"heading\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is there a change in your child\u2019s professional status? <\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"paragraph\"><div class=\"wysiwyg\">\n<p><strong>Let us know as soon as possible<\/strong>.
