If your child has been placed in foster care – whether temporarily or for a longer period – the foster parent<\/a> receives the child benefit. Were you receiving child benefit before the placement? If so, you may be eligible for a flat-rate allowance, a fixed monthly amount provided while your child is in foster care.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Who can receive this allowance?<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n
\n

When a child is placed in a private home setting (such as with a foster family or a relative), a fixed amount of \u20ac81,52<\/strong> per month may be granted to the parent or person who was receiving child benefit just before the placement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n

No flat-rate allowance is granted if the child is placed in an institution.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

Conditions for receiving this allowance<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n
\n

You may qualify for the allowance if you:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

\n
    \n
  • maintain regular contact <\/strong>with the child,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • or show active interest<\/strong> in their well-being.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n
    \n

    If this is no longer the case, the allowance may be transferred to another person – such as another parent or a family member – who:<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n

      \n
    • contributes to the child\u2019s upbringing,<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • and maintains regular contact or shows genuine interest.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n
      \n

      Famiris bases its decision on information provided by the official body responsible for the placement.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n
