My child with a condition is between 18 and 21 years old and is working. What now?

A young person with a disability or condition recognized by the Center for Evaluation of Autonomy and Disability (CEAH) is unconditionally entitled to family allowances until the age of 21.

If your child is 18 or older and works or receives social benefits, this might be a reason to lose the supplement for a child with a condition (increased family allowance). Exception: working in a sheltered workshop, social workshop, or an adapted work company (a customized work company) does not affect your family allowances.

Contact your case manager to review your specific situation.

The right to the supplement for a child with a condition expires once your child turns 21. You can still receive the basic family allowance until your child’s 25th birthday if they continue their studies, follow a dual learning and working program, or are registered as a job-seeking school leaver.
