My child with a condition is between 18 and 21 years old and is still studying. What now?

Young people in Brussels are entitled to child benefits unconditionally until August of the year they turn 18. For young people with a disability or condition recognized by the Center for Evaluation of Autonomy and Disability (CEAH), this entitlement extends until they reach 21. They can also receive a supplement to the child benefits until the age of 21, provided they do not receive a replacement income allowance or integration allowance.

From the age of 21, there is no longer a right to the supplement for children with a disability or condition.  If the young person continues to study after the age of 21, there may still be a right to regular child benefits according to the conditions for students.
