What documents do I need to apply for a maternity allowance?
In Brussels, you are entitled to a maternity allowance for the birth of a child. You can apply for the allowance from your sixth month of pregnancy.
If you apply for the allowance before the birth, you will need a certificate from your doctor or midwife stating the expected due date. If you do not have this certificate at the time of application, you can submit it later.
