I’m pregnant. Do I need to apply for a maternity allowance if I already receive child benefits?

Even if you already receive child benefits, it is recommended to apply if you want to receive the maternity grant on time.

Famiris can pay your maternity allowance starting from 2 months before your estimated due date. If you do not apply for the maternity allowance, we will only be notified when you register your child’s birth with the municipality. In that case, you will receive the maternity allowance later than if you apply for it yourself.
