What are the conditions for receiving Brussels child benefits
General conditions
- Children living in the Brussels-Capital Region are eligible for Brussels child benefits.
- They must have Belgian nationality or be authorized to reside in Belgium.
The 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region are Anderlecht, Auderghem, Berchem-Sainte-Agathe, Bruxelles, Etterbeek, Evere, Forest, Ganshoren, Ixelles, Jette, Koekelberg, Molenbeek-Saint-Jean, Saint-Gilles, Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, Schaerbeek, Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, Uccle et Watermael-Boitsfort.
Duration of the right
- You are entitled to child benefit from the month following your child’s birth.
- This right is granted until August 31 of the year the child turns 18. For children with a recognized disability or condition, this applies until the month in which the child turns 21.
- Between 18 and 25 years old, additional conditions apply.
Specific conditions for young people aged 18 to 25
If the young person continues their studies or is registered as a job seeker, they can, under certain conditions, continue to receive child benefits.
